Beginning Sept. 11: Adult Christian Formation after 10:30am Service

Forgiving and Forgiven

A Discussion Series based on the Book by Dr. L. William Countryman

And

Grounded in Scripture and God’s Love For Us

Yes, we talk about forgiveness a lot in our church. We ask for forgiveness each Sunday. But for this series, let’s really talk about forgiveness.  Forgiveness starts with self-forgiveness.

As Countryman has said, if you have difficulty forgiving yourself, then you’re holding yourself to higher standards than God holds you.  "Only the strong can forgive. God, who is strongest, forgives best," writes Countryman. Or, as Archbishop Desmond Tutu says, “There is no future without forgiveness.”

Copies of this fresh and transformative book, Forgiven and Forgiving are available for checkout or for purchase.
Don't have time to read the book before hand? That's fine. Please join us anyway. We'll have quotes from the book as we talk about the challenges of forgiveness.
